Stats

Having set some things in stone, in Benchmarking and Mandatory Feats, spending your build points should be relatively straightforward. Ensure that you can reach the required stat levels for the feat or benchmark standards; for example, if you intend to take up Combat Expertise, that you have 13 Intelligence (or 12 Intelligence if you can secure a +1 tome; 11 for a +2 tome, and so on). The most common such requirement is for the Two Weapon Fighting chain, where Improved/Greater Two Weapon Fighting requires 17 Dexterity. For this particular case, it might be interesting to consider that the Ranger class grants this chain even if you lack the required stat levels.

The other two universal considerations are Intelligence and Constitution. Consider putting more points into Intelligence if you find many Skills important to you. Constitution, on the other hand, is commonly regarded as absolutely vital regardless of other build decisions, and not putting enough points into it is thought to be the single most common newbie mistake.

If you have leftover points after doing the above and also pumping up your main stat (Strength for a physical Damage character, and Wisdom/Charisma/Intelligence for the relevant casters), you can consider further pushing up your skill levels by investing in the respective stat. Typically, this is done for low-end rogues who intend to be able to disable traps without having to work too hard (Intelligence), UMD utilizing characters (Charisma), Tanks using Intimidate (Charisma) and Sneak Attack-based melees who use Diplomacy or Bluff to send aggro a different way (Charisma).

Archibalde has high Dexterity and Wisdom for a high AC; high Wisdom for casting; sufficient Constitution and Strength for melee.
